"Take pride in how far you have come, and have faith in
how far you can go!"
LL Hoops will field three teams in the 2008 season. We
bring our players into our system and take pride in emphasizing player
growth and development in a competitive atmosphere. The experience and
knowledge of our coaching staff provides a unique advantage and superior
learning environment for our players. Each of our three coaches have
competed and/or coached at the collegiate or professional level.
- Cheryl Yarbrough (Robinson High School, three year
starter and captain at the College of William & Mary, Founded LL Hoops
1997 as a coaching and college consulting business)
We believe our five-month immersion in "Maximum Basketball" is the best way
to teach our players mental toughness, decision-making, fundamentals, and
strategies necessary to perform successfully in games. Our
coaches plant seeds for success through a variety of different experiences
ranging from speed and quickness training, strength training, "Race
for the Cure," to a attending college games and practices, and a boot
training camp in June. Tournaments against national caliber
competition include events such as, AAU Super Regional, Adidas Deep South,
Adidas Showtime National Championship, Blue Chip Invitational at Penn State,
NYC Nike Summer Slam, and US
Junior Nationals.
At LL, the AAU experience is about more than basketball! It's about setting
goals, reaching your potential, doing your best, giving back, developing
leadership skills, being a good teammate, accountability and playing the
game the right way. We define success by more than a scoreboard! We are
looking for girls who are committed to improving, are self-motivated, and
have a strong desire to work on their game year round. Our parents are a
huge part of the formula. They create a mutually supportive team
environment and believe that it “takes a village” to raise a child.
AAU fees for the season have averaged $2,500 for the last three years.
